supplemental rec instructions

For common app schools like USC, how do i turn in an outside rec letter. The letter is from my previous supervisor whom i interned for.

I've checked the supplemental forms and the one available says "teacher form" and on it has alot of information that only applies to teachers.

Anyone have any idea how i can turn in this supplemental rec letter?

Usually supplemental recs do not use the Teacher Evaluation form. Since USC says that supplemental LORs can be sent but doesn’t give any instructions (that I can find), I think Y has good comments (at the bottom):

The main thing is to mark it as supplemental so it doesn’t get mixed up with your required recs, and have enough identifying info about you so that they can match it to the rest of your application. I would also have them put it on business letterhead if possible.

thanks for the advice!

So i would just tell him to write the letter and have him mail it to the school saying this is an extra rec?

Yes, that’s right, just be sure they also include identifying information for you so that the school knows which application it goes with. Also, you might ask them to sign across the flap of the envelope, that way the school knows it wasn’t opened.
