If a professor mailed the supplemental rec, how does harvard match it with the application? There is only my name on the letter...no other personal information.

hmm...good question. I don't know how they would match it with just your name. My suppl. recommender received a postcard from harvard that basically had his name, my name, and a short confirmation message.

Is that acknowledgement something we should have been looking for? I'm not sure if my supplemental recommender received one or not...

Is that standard procedure? I've just never read that anywhere before but it does make sense for them to acknowledge its arrival.

Thanks.

Yeah, I'm also wondering the same thing. Is it typical for the recommender to receive such a notice?

I never heard about one, but I read that your name and DOB is all they need with the suppl. rec. so that's what I did. Just hope there isnt another applicee with your name.

i'm not sure if that's standard procedure...i really wasn't expecting it
