Supplemental Recommendation Question

So I got that questionnaire back in January (the socioeconomic one) and I filled out all the questions. I thought it was something everyone got however, and I thought I had zero chance of getting into Berkeley anyway because of my low stats (3.8 UC gpa, 1900 SAT, etc) so I didn't ask anyone for a recommendation. Part of the reason is that I have really low self-esteem and just the thought of finding a teacher who I believe would recommend me highly was frightening so I ignored it. Now I'm really worried that this kills any chance that I had after reading some posts on here so I was wondering if getting one submitted now will do me any good. I'm more than willing now to ask a teacher for a rec, but the site says Berk isnt guaranteed to read late additions and it being so late now in the process....any thoughts?

It's way too late to send any recs now. I didnt even know Cal accepted recs.

If they asked for recs, they only send those to border-line applicants who they want to learn more about. So really you had nothing to lose, because it only would have helped you. I'm sure pretty much all the decisions have been made already though, so it's a little too late. Good luck, I hope it all works out for you!

Ah, I'm in a similar position. I didn't get the UCLA supplemental in by the deadline lol.

^

I sent my recommendation, in addition I needed to send a Doctor's Letter

anyways, I think decisions are already made, it's way too late

Good luck!

Not doing the letter or rec won't take anything away from your application/supplement. I assume you answered the other questions they gave you, and that should definitely have helped, so there's still hope!

I never sent the recommendation and I still got in.
