Does anybody know if Cornell accepts supplemental/additional recs and actually takes them into consideration? I have a teacher whom I know very well because we're more like friends than anything, but he was never a core subject teacher--he was for eighth grade, but last year I was his peer mentor for one of his hours. More like personal assistant, but I digress. Will Cornell take his rec into consideration because it will explain a lot about me that my other GC and teacher recs will not?

I spoke to my guidance counselor on this topic as I wanted one of my evaluations to come from a teacher in a similar position. She said at least one of the two had to be one of my main academics, preferably science (for my major), but they really want teachers from my junior year and even senior year if they're that well acquainted with me... I ended up with two of my favourite AP teachers from last year.

You can however submit just the reccomendation letter from him, not really related to your applications so much as supplementary (as you mentioned), and they'll consider it as far as I know. That's what I'm doing. =)

I sent out three...all using common app...donno if that was ok...

I sent out three using common app as well, two from teachers at my school, and from a cornell professor. i think it should be fine?
