Where would Supplemental Recs be sent?

Depends on which college you're applying to. :p

Yale (10 char)

bump.......

it's sent to Yale, then. That's what he's trying to say.

Very funny, theone lol

And they'll get it to the regional rep? even though it seems like each regional rep has different policies on supplemental recs?

what is the policy on supplemental recs for the regional rep for MA?

I'm sure different regional reps have different preferences on supplemental recs, but they do not have different POLICIES. As a whole, I think they would strongly discourage more than one supplemental rec. If you do a supplemental rec at all, it must show a side of you that the academic recs cannot illustrate. If it's just one more person saying you're a smart, passionate, great kid, then don't do it.

The supplemental rec just goes to the admissions office like all the rest of your stuff. Make sure your name and applicant ID are on every page so there is no question that it will make it to your file.

what is the applicant ID?

I second that question....

Maybe someone who applied last year can help out with the mechanics of the applicant ID or will tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, which is quite possible.

As I understand it, every applicant is given an ID number when they apply. I know this because I'm an alumni interviewer and the applicant IDs of your interviewees must be included on your interview report. I had assumed that once an application was in, the applicant got an ID number.

If you do not get an ID number, then the supplemental rec should have your name clearly identified on the top or bottom of each page. Also on the envelope addressed to the admissions office that you give the person writing your rec you could write "Re: Applicant Name" to further avoid confusion.

Isn't it called an Eli ID or something? Eli Account? Something with Eli.

Ah, yes. Here it is:

What do you need to do in order to check your admissions decision online?

In order to check your Regular Decision admissions decision online, you must have an Eli account. After processing your application, Yale Undergraduate Admissions mailed to you a username, a PIN number and the instructions for setting up an Eli account. If you have used these instructions to set up your account and create a password, then you already have what you will need to obtain your decision.

Maybe applicant's don't get a copy of their applicant ID because what theoneo describes doesn't sound like the ID number that alumni interviewers get.

Yeah, I think it's only to see your admission decision online... and I guess for the admissions office to release important announcements from a centralized source. Hm...
