Is it a bad idea to submit a supplemental rec to Carnegie Mellon (a total of three teacher recs)?

Some school say they hate them...others say it can be a good idea.

What's Carnegie Mellon's opinion?

I have one supplemental rec from a professor at Carnegie Mellon and the woman I spoke to on the phone to ask about it definitely encouraged me to do so.

Before you do it, though, I'd make sure they have something different to say about you. It only starts to hurt when you send in too much of the same and start to annoy them, I think.

I had 3 recs, a physics/math teacher, a cs/math teacher (CMU alum), and an English teacher (who is formally know as The Most Awesome Man on the Planet).

I got in ED.
