Supplementary art materials

I am applying for colleges which offer the option to use SlideRoom to upload any art supplementary materials I’d wish them to consider. However, I can also choose the option to put a link to an online portfolio in the additional info section on the Commonapp or to upload a professional portfolio in the Questions section of each uni. I understand that the last two options do not guarantee that the admission officers will see my stuff but I’d want to choose either one of them nonetheless. So, which one would you say is better? Should I, for instance, link them to my DeviantArt profile in the additional info section? I have so far been more open to the idea of submitting a pdf of a professional portfolio, it seems more professional and organized, in my opinion. However, do you know of any guidelines that the colleges have given for students to follow? I come from Europe where admission officers prefer to see lots of works in progress like sketches or unfinished products. I read that in the US that is not the case, though, the articles do not state whether that’s true for art colleges only or if it’s a general rule for all college institutions… Also, a professional portfolio usually features prices of your works. I do not suppose that this would be necessary to be included in my case? I do not wish to major in art anyway. (on top of that I am an amateur painter so I’ve never really participated in an exhibition. I’ve sold stuff online, though) Also, normally, including fanart of celebs and people drawn from a photo is a no-no in a portfolio. However, a lot of my technique and skills are showcased best in sketches of famous people (I was fascinated with hard light used in classic movies at one point so I was trying to recreate that in my drawings since the lighting is difficult to recreate if I were to draw from real life. I also had some presentations to make on the history of cinema so I decided to include my drawings as part of the design) I do have studies from real-life figures, however, they’re mostly sketches of various body parts so technically they aren’t finished. My question pretty much is whether I should include such works in a portfolio or would the admission officers think of it as unprofessional?
