Googling away and I haven't been able to find an answer to this...

I'm getting a rec letter from a charity overseas at which I did work and they want to know what information about me they need on it (demographics). Obviously it should have my name, but I do think that I read somewhere that it needs my Common App ID as well? Should it have my birthdate? He wants to send it out soon, so I need to make sure he has enough information on it for them to connect it to me.

(Apologies for the inconsequential question)

Should students send supplementary recommendations?
While we can make careful evaluations with required recommendations, we are happy to read helpful letters from people directly familiar with applicants’ lives outside the classroom. Such letters are not necessary, however, and it is generally advisable to submit no more than two or three.
