Supplementary work/research paper

Just wondering - what is appropriate to attach as a research paper/supplementary material on the Harvard supplement? Does it have to be science based?

I wrote a 2500 word essay comparing how sexuality is portrayed in 'The Color Purple' and 'Dracula' for A Level English. It's probably the best thing I've ever written and showcases my passion for literature and pushing boundaries perfectly (since the brief was to compare 'The Color Purple' with another book. My idea was considered as crazy but brilliant by my teacher). Surely no one else will have written an essay like this!

Would it be okay to send something like this, or not at all? Some opinions would be great, either way :)

I think it is okay as long as it involves some form of research, not just literary interpretation. Also, you should probably know that they will not read the entire thing, probably just skim through it… maybe you could submit a small intro along with it so they know the general gist of it :)

Anyone else?

Maybe you should contact a professor who would be interested in your work. If it is that great, perhaps he can give some input to the admissions committee.
