How are you supposed to write a unique supplement if you’ve never visited the college because of time/financial issues, although you really want to go to the school?
Research the school throughly, and show that you’ve made some serious effort to learn about the school beyond looking at the website. That alone will set you apart!
This would also be a good place to reference a program you’re interested in that’s specific to the college. (For example, you want to study international relations and they have a particularly strong study abroad program.) Talk about whatever it is that makes this school stand out to you.
If it feels appropriate, I might include a sentence about not being able to visit. "Although there isn’t room in my family’s budget to visit College X, I feel that it would be a good fit because ________________
