Supplements--how many is too many?

Hello all,

I'm a confused rising senior in the midst of the app process. Thanks to all those who helped me out with my safety school question, first of all! I'm looking into a few rolling admissions schools now that you all suggested it. :)

That said, I'm still interested in applying EASC to Yale. My creds are pretty solid, but I was wondering about supplementary materials, specifically a music CD. I've played piano for almost 13 years--I'm no virtuoso, but I definitely have a pretty strong repertoire, one that could fill up a 15-minute (suggested length for college apps) CD easily. I know that there will be plenty of applicants, specifically for the music program (i'm not going for it) who will send in tapes that are better than mine, but do you think that a CD, if recorded well, could actually hurt me at all? Like, not live up to their expectations?

Also, how do colleges feel about activity lists? I have way too much to fit into the seven spaces on the Common App, and I'd like to describe each one a little more...would that be overkill?

As you can see, I'm just afraid that I won't come out completely on paper (except for in my essays). I don't want to get shoved to the bottom of the pile...I want to get everything about myself out there....

Just FYI, I'm not planning on submitting any extra letters of rec or peer rec's (except for Dartmouth, where it's required), so the activity list and the CD would be my only "extra" materials.

Thoughts?
Thanks in advance
