Supplements!!

If you didn't get a supplement, does that mean you have a higher chance of being rejected? :(

It just means you were not rejected …right away. My son got two (USB, UCLA), got rejected UCSD and assume will get rejected for others since they seems more difficult to get in to.

:( so meaning that I will probably get rejected? I was really looking forward to hopefully getting in.

Depends on your stats. Getting a supplement doesn’t necessarily mean you’re borderline. It means the admissions office wants to know more about you.

Since you didn’t get one, there is absolutely no way for us to tell you if you were rejected or not. Post your stats and maybe we can provide better feedback. Otherwise, just wait one more week. ;)

@Kailun: No, it does not mean that you are probably rejected! It means you were simply either accepted or rejected. You can’t tell at all from not getting one.

@MindySue: Being rejected from SD does not necessarily mean rejection from UCLA/UCB. UCSD is completely numbers driven, while UCLA/UCB are holistic. If there is something unique or interesting about your son or if there is a hardship, then UCSD might not have looked at it, while UCLA and UCB definitely will. I would prepare not to be accepted from UCLA/UCB, but I definitely wouldn’t give up hope.
