Supplements

<p>In the Harvard supplement, for example, it lists some possible topics. It calls this essay optional, so can we really write about whatever we want? I'm thinking about writing about my experiences at RSI, since those were so awesome, and perhaps dispelling some notions of utter nerdiness there (RSI is about the people more than it is about the research).</p>

<p>I guess, what I mean is, how close do you have to stay to the prompts, on both the regular topics (on the common app) and on supplements?</p>

Okay, so I always hear about these crazy essays, some of which are actually really really good, like in Harry Bauld's book, there is one about how a kid does his best thinking in the bathroom. I have some really good ideas like that, but none of the prompts fit that!</p>
