@BroomOfThought Yeah, I’m on the fence about it as well. If I can convince my GC, I let you know lol
When you guys send your letters of interest, are you sending it to the regional rep, or the contact of the specific college, or both? Thanks
Along with the question above, are you guys emailing, faxing, or snail mailing your letters of interest??
@airspirit: I’m emailing, I feel as if it’s the most efficient means
I’m pretty sure we mail it to the specific college
Yeah, I just received an email about it a few days ago
Are you guys sending any other supplemental materials besides a letter?
@airspirit, I’m sending a letter, a new teacher recommendation, and obviously mid year grades
@jamesjunkers How long is your letter? I’m a little weary because mine is a little bit over a page. I’m planning on sending it within the next few days.
@airspirit, mines not finalized, but I think I was aiming between 250-500 words (I’ll double check next time I open my computer), I’m not sending mine yet because my first semester grades don’t come out until Feb 11, so I’m gonna wait till then
@jamesjunkers Oh ok, thanks man!
@airspirit, sorry for the delay. I just checked, and my letter is slightly over 400 words. Most of it, however, was used to explain a recent internship I undertook, which wasn’t included in my original application.
@jamesjunkers No problem. I just sent mine in; it was ~500 words. Cornell just sent me an email confirming that they’ll add it onto my app.
@airspirit, where did you send it to? As in what email address. Thanks.
@jamesjunkers Cornell ILR sent an email mid-January to all deferred applicants. They just thanked people for their continued interest and gave suggestions of what deferred ILR applicants should do, including a letter of interest sent to: ilr_admissions@cornell.edu.
If you applied for another school, then I guess it’s to their admissions office instead.
So nice of CALS to do the same (sarcasm)
Anyways, there’s a CALS email that’s the same format of that ILR one, I’ll send it to that (and maybe my regional rep too to be safe)
Thanks so much
@jamesjunkers No problem. By the way, did you submit your FAFSA materials? I did a few days ago and my Cornell FA to-do list says I still have to do everything.
@airspirit, yeah I submitted FAFSA, but I think all the other things on the to do are IDOC which can’t be completed yet.
anybody else from ILR get a CAAAN interview?
@Zenithar143 I did. Back in November, though.
