Supporting the troops, denying the effort : Generals Speak Out

At the risk of igniting a political debate that leads nowhere, I can't help asking those of you who contend that one cannot support the troops while not supporting the manner in which this war has been executed will rationalize the generals speaking out against Rumsfeld? [Assuming you are aware, of course, that six generals who fought in the current conflict have come out against the way in which this war has been managed.]

I figure this may be good for some Friday [Good Friday at that] afternoon entertainment, a snapshot of the way that people will believe what they want to believe regardless of the facts. [Good training, too, for those youngsters that are beginning their military careers as an example of the the inherent job limitations that must be accepted when you sign on.]

That's easy.

You can argue over how the war has been fought all you want. That's what generals are for.

However, the people you are trying to equate with the generals actually want us to LOSE. I guarantee you NONE of those generals want their troops to LOSE the war.

And if you think the left in this country doesn't actually want the United States to LOSE, then you haven't been paying attention.

Oh, and I'll also bet if the six generals in question had come out in SUPPORT of Rumsfeld, we never would have heard a peep about it since that's not news that forwards the leftist media position. You know it's true.

What he said. /</p>
