Im a surfer and i have no surf buddies, no car, and therefore no ride to the beach...
would anyone like to help me out??

give me surfing lessons and i’ll be happy to give you a lift.

give me surfing lessons and i’ll ride the bus with you. lol

buy me a surfboard and give me lessons and ill carry u to the beach

Where do live?

well… washington state currently, but i just moved here from half moon bay CA

Dude, isn’t that like in NorCal?

(Um, I think I’ll have to take back my offer. I’m not willing to take the bus for that long… unless you’ll be in LA soon.)

I didn’t know Washington was in Norcal.

Half Moon Bay is. -_-

EDIT: loool. Completely misread mavericks’s post. (Washington’s even further away! mavericks, you should so take up eaad’s offer and please record it. )

ok fools, i’ll be living in Hedrick this fall! looking for some surf buddies during the year, duhhhhhh.
coming down on the 15th to surf topanga/pv/then to trestles/churches if anybody wants to come…

Gotta say there is a BIG disconnect between your pitiful non-surfing predicament and your
screen name . . . :-)

Kei

well, since you’ve inferred i’m a POSER. …
i work for jeff clark at mavericks, i’m his shop girl…
hence the screen name.
plus i surf …alot.
and i still need a ride to the beach.

hahahaha

my mistake, mav

Props back to ya!!!

Never surfed there when I lived in the west side (was undiscovered/still a secret a long time ago . . .) but got 4 mile, scott’s and the Lane a lot.

Good luck, and GEEV 'EM!!!

Kei

near ucla theres countyline/zuma. you can there with buses from ucla. the 2 then 534 i think. about an hour long trip. dont bother goin to topanga or any of the more popular malibu areas cuz on a good swell its super crowded with fat old men on longboards and its just a waste of time. you can even go as far as el porto or like huntington. i went a couple times to the wedge too, not sure if youd charge it on a stick though. i bodyboard and went often during the school year last year. i know a couple guys who surf and they usually stick to the North LA county area. but dude, ive been trying to get together a trip witha couple buddies to mavs. just need to pull $$ together to rent a boat lmao.

ps. you have to try to sneak into pt. mugu. its a military base and its illegal to get on the beach, but if you somehow find a way in or boat in, its an unbelievable break.

you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding someone on campus, there’s a surf team… [Home of the 2008-2009 UCLA Surf Team](<a href=“Student Organizations | UCLA Student Organizations, Leadership & Engagement”>Student Organizations | UCLA Student Organizations, Leadership & Engagement)

Upperclassmen have a greater chance of having cars, so just ask around. A bunch of my friends will go out here and there, I never got around to learning how to truly surf (other than the one longboarding experience on the waist-high around Waikiki Beach).

well gmargos, my dad is active duty coast guard so ch-ching i can get on all military bases. i took a surf trip when i wash college shopping last spring break and we were able to park right on camp pendelton, surf churches/trestles and avoid the $15 parking fee at wendys… yay!

haha thats sweet. ive surfed a couple times at trestles, but for sponging its not worth the drive imo. very anti-sponging and gets really crowded. and the new fees hurt…=/

wow i didnt even know ucla had a surf team. i competed last year in usba and bia at salt creek and zuma. i wonder if they would start up a bodyboarding team. i know a bunch of guys who go to ucla and compete/travel at bbing comps.

you know gmargos, you should join up with them/start a club.

i was thinking about it, starting a bbing club. but the only thing is thats its soo hard to get sponsored as a bodyboarding individual, let alone a team. ive been bbing for a couple years now, and only just got a tiny sponsorship by a local surf shop. and i doubt that many bbers go to ucla, not really a surf school, unlike ucsd or like calpolyslo. ima shoot the surf team and email and see if they would think about opening up like a bbing division.
