I live in Florida and go to a gifted school nationally ranked top 5.

I want a school where I am in a good environment- one which allows me to have fun (greek life) and has a beautiful campus- and one that allows me to surf and better myself through the classes. (with a great music scene)

I'm interested in doing something creative- I have narrowed it down yet, it tetters between Film, Journalism, and some like Advertisement. I really enjoy the arts, but also enjoy social scenes as well.

About a 3.7 Weighted GPA (w/upwards trend) and a 2070 SAT, which I hope to bring up to at least a 2020.

Like the idea of a private school, but would consider a bigger public school if it offered everything I'm looking for.

Thanks Alot, give me your suggestions please! - The time is coming to apply!

I would reccommend Univeristy of New Hampshire. Yeah, it’s far from Florida but it’s about 15 minutes from the ocean, has a ton of greek life and you won’t find a more beautiful area of the country (in my opinion). The campus is lovely (brick buildings, collegiate looking) and the students are very relaxed, yet the school has some great academic departments. You would qualify for scholarships which is also nice. UNH has a good journalism as well.

Just by looking at your thread title I thought University of Southern California.

And I’m confident that many people who post here will say USC too.

What are you surfing preferences ? I mean, in terms of break and bottom type; wave direction, power and length; swell size; board type; crowd conditions, etc. ?

Assuming surfing conditions play a big role in your college selection, those variables may have a major impact in your final choice.

UCSB and USC are both good fits

USC of UCSD
or any of the UC’s since the beach is only 45mins away [max]

Occidental
University of Miami
UCSB, UCLA, UCI, UCSC
Chapman
USC

assuming by surf you meant you wanted good weather year round.

hmmmm, and by surf I meant waves.

How would you say my chances are at a school like USC or UCLA? Slim to none?

I still need to take the SAT IIs for the UCs.

UCLA isnt that hard to get into
i dont know why so many ppl think that they need above 2000
to get into UCLA or CAL

i notice that the majority of those ppl are outta state too -_____-
