<p>Hi. Im a junior. looking into english as a major, law for grad school. I am a 17 year old male, African-American, single family home, oldest of 5, no family college history, ever. I was a shoe in for valedictorian at my school, but unfortunately was hindered by personal life events (parents, divorced for 10 years, got back together and had a baby and i was lucky enough to get to mediate this whole situation. it was traumatic to say the least). this is the drop in my grades and gpa, but ive made my way back. i guess i really just want to know if i have a chance to any of my college choices considering my upward trend and endurance. im very bright and determined(if im allowed to say that..)..i actually do things because i care and love to do them, not for a resume. thanks. im looking at: Yale, UPenn, Columbia, NYU, BostonU, UChicago, UC Berkeley, LA, Santa Barbara and San Diego, Brown, Duke, Stanford.
