I’m sure it’s been asked before, but how available is a “city-life” at Beloit? I know Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison are nearby (within 2 hours driving), but are they realistically accessible to students without cars?

My daughter has traveled from Beloit to all three cities more than once, sometimes by bus, sometimes carpooling. She’s made excursions for fun (a concert in Milwaukee), as well for school (a field trip to Chicago). In either case, transportation is not too difficult to arrange.
D is a freshman at Beloit. She has been to Chicago twice - field trip once and once with friends, and to Madison a number of times. Really though, as she tells me, there are so many things to do on campus that there is not a need to get away frequently. Improvs, plays, poetry readings, lots and lots of music, international film festival, - just a lot to do on campus.

I went to a white sox game with my FYI (first year initiatives class and advisor), madison (three times) and rockford once. There are plenty of ways to get off campus. But there are also a million things on campus to do, so you will never be bored.
