Suspended from HS for a whole semester.....

you could pose it as sort of a life changing pivotal moment. you did well afterwards? well… say it helped you make an honest change.

If you don’t tell them it isn’t the same as lying. My brother tought me that :)

^^^Your brother is wrong! Lying by omission is as dishonest as lying. When you give sworn testimony you swear to tell the truth. the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Anything less IS lying.

Op, you made a serious mistake when you were quite young and in a bad situation. I hope that you have learned from your mistake, despite the tone of your posts. Be honest and contrite when you address this in your applications. And best of luck to you!

Maybe he should’ve taught you how to spell instead.

I must be the meanest Mom. If you were my son and considering lying on the college application, you would be going to a Local Community College until you can prove you deserve to go away for school. Sorry. You clearly have not learned from your suspension and ownership to your mistake.

To readers: I decided I am going to explain the honest situation to admissions…
By the way life was still pretty crappy after that incident…After I got a car, I started working and didnt have to depend on my crappy Mom anymore…

College grades are mainly A’s few B’s …
Anyways, time to be honest…lets hope I can get in… =[

Good luck. Unlike other posters, I don’t you think you “should have gone to jail.” You obviously were young and have matured since then. Jail time would be bad for everybody. But anyways, good luck and tell the truth. If they know what you did up front, they can’t penalize you for it later.

I can’t believe no one sees the humor in this hahaha I mean you were 15 years old!!! I wouldn’t lie but I agree that it would make a great essay. Good luck!

Colleges will most likely disregaurd a simple suspension in middle school. I was suspended in 8th grade for throwing a snowball at somebody (stupid I know). My family is friends with the president of a decent state college and we asked them, and she said that most schools won’t consider mishaps like that if your academics and EC’s are solid.

I wouldn’t lie if I were you, but just don’t tell them and you can say that you forgot about it. If you forgot, then you can’t be lying. If you tell them then they might think you are a bad person.

Once a crook always a crook. It is very very very very bad that you stole a car (what were you thinking?) from your teacher. That is the type of thing that people get sent to jail for. I wouldn’t think about college, think about how you can tell the teacher your sorry.
