I was suspended in the first semester of my sophomore year for academic dishonesty. I have good scores from a severely underrepresented state, and my ECs are good.

Will MIT auto-reject me because of my suspension?

Apply and see.

A friend of mine at MIT got in after being suspended for blowing up a toilet at his school (he ended up changing schools), true story I do believe. So it is not an “automatic rejection,” although blowing up a toilet is slightly more MIT-style than academic dishonesty…

I think that in order for you to have a chance, MIT is going to want to see (via an essay or something) that you learned your lesson and are not a higher-than-average risk for engaging in the same behavior in college.
