<p>TG, if your daughter has the opp. to take a photo class at RIT, I highly recommend Guenther Cartwright who was my mentor, but I'm not certain if he teaches Photo I level courses. He can be a demanding SOB, but always with your professional interests at heart. I learned more from him than any other faculty, ever. Plus, if her interests are in GD, the viewfinder is an outstanding tool to explore composition and translates very well to GD. Also, the ability to understand how to control color will be extremely beneficial.</p>
