Hello, I'm currently a sophomore animation student at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I wanted to come to the school for a long time but recently I've been thinking about transferring to MassArt in Boston.

SVA is just way too expensive, tuition, housing, and just the price of living. It's expensive for me to get home, and kind of a pain, too. Plus I feel like financial aid doesn't give a **** if you're hurting money-wise (which we are), and most of the time I just feel like a number on a list. MassArt, however, is in my home state, so tuition would be a little over 10,000 a year, and instead of dorming I'd go with the off-campus housing option. Overall, transferring to MassArt would definitely be the cheaper and much less stressful option.

My main concern is the school reputation. I know SVA has a great rep and that's one of the reasons I chose to go there. I want to have a very successful career in animation and want to make sure I can have all the same opportunities at MassArt as SVA.

If anyone from MassArt or SVA wants to give their input please do. This is a very tough decision to make and I'd like all the advice I can get. :)
