I worship chocolate.

Yo, get on YM.

First off, I’m NOT a dude OR a noob, whatever that is. Secondly, please explain what is sooooooo good about your freakin India cuz everytime I go there, I dont see much.

Its obvious you haven’t seen much, let alone understand :stuck_out_tongue: India isn’t about half hearted sightseeing or slumdog millionaires.
No offense, but in the Indian forum, everybody is a dude and/or noob.

If you don’t see much in India, you’re not looking very hard. Or maybe you’re in Indiana by mistake.

Everywhere I go in India I am overwhelmed with how much I see. All of the world is on display in India. Not all of it is great–the dark side of man is a dark one indeed–but nobody could ever describe ANYTHING in India–good or bad–as “not much.”

It blows my mind on a daily basis.

Coolest non-Indian ever :D

@Tetris: I’m a fellow chocolate devotee :D

First off, I’m NOT a dude OR a noob, whatever that is. Secondly, please explain what is sooooooo good about your freakin India cuz everytime I go there, I dont see much.

Your taste must be different.

As crazy as this may be, I’m indian. Actually, im born there…I know, it’s shocking. Anyways, yeah, for some reason, everything seems so dull and stinky and low…everyone there acts so weird and uncomfortably freaky. Many weird experiences…

Different people, different perspectives :P

I guess someone here is an ABCD !!!

American
Born
Confused
Desi

true_mustang: The sun does not shine out of your ass. In other words, hard as it may be to believe, people other than you have a different view of India and do NOT find it ‘dull’ or ‘stinky’ or ‘low’. I’m not going to wax eloquent about what India has to offer - I’m sure everyone above me can do it better.

5 random favourite things:
1.) the history. Because, yes, I am a massive nerd.
2.) the fact that if an Indian wants to curse out an American to their face, he or she can choose 1452 different languages to do so in
3.) Durga Puja in Cal. Such mirth and merriment (read: debauchery) does not happen during Christmas in America, oh no.
4.) Diversity. Even in a city like Cal, there are, like, a billion different communities with incredibly different cultures
5.) Weddings! :D

My 5-
1.) the history- no I’m a complete non-nerd with history. But I like the fact that the history is so obvious and rich and part of our day to day life values and traditions.
2.) the fact that we can speak in 1452 different languages, and STILL express ourselves well enough to a random fellow from a far-off state or a foreign tourist.
3.) Holi, Diwali, Rakhshabandhan, Dushera, Id, and the fact that I don’t have the space to name all the awesome festivals that make me proud of my culture, without preventing me from celebrating Christmas with full zeal.
4.) Unity.
5.) Family values

Oh, yeah, all the festivals rock. I can’t believe I didn’t mention Holi and Diwali.

My 5 -

1) You can buy yourself an AWESOME meal off the roadside for something like 50 cents.
2) We invented 0. Ha, I’m such a geek.
3) Festivals!!! There’s a festival every few weeks. Oh my, Diwali is so amazing over here. And the sweets we eat…mmmmmm…
4) You can switch between ~4 languages in one conversation and no one will ever be confused.
5) You can strike any sort of balance - however disproportionate you want - between traditional values and modern culture. You can change the balance as and when you like. Dynamism, hell yeah.

I’m not an ABCD cuz I’m not american born nor I am confused. I’m just a D. Anyways, thats true. Everyone does have different opinions. And there are certain aspects of India I like as well such as the weddings, especially the henna. But India is still not all that great as everyone here claims it is. That’s a fact.

^No, that’s not a fact. It’s just your opinion.

sure. you say it that way.

I will (unless you don’t go beyond ‘tik hai’ and ‘choot’) ;)

Haha most people won’t get confused

choot? :open_mouth: ***

Chootiya.

Haha CC can’t censor Hindi profanity :D
