What happens if the class you are swapping into is full? Can you go on the waitlist? If so, does the swap then happen at the point you clear the waitlist? Or are you prevented from the swap option if the class is full.

^^ I thought I heard somewhere (maybe Poly Live) where if you’re still registered in the previous class, the computer won’t allow you to swap into the *new *one. But, they say not to *drop *because you might not get the one you want and be stuck with neither. Sounds kind of Catch-22 to me. Of course, I’m not sure if this is the case. Maybe you can call the Registrar’s office to see how it works. Sounds like it can be frustrating.

Learned that you really can’t do anything to your schedule during regular rotations, IF you already have 16 credits. Tried swapping an open section of the SAME class and it was not possible, even though you are leaving an open slot of the same class different time behind. (wanted morning vs. night). Tried dropping the class, then adding the class at a different time with plenty of spaces and the system STILL showed too many classes and blocked the add. “Don’t try this at home!!”

I tried swapping a class with another section in a different time slot (put on waitlist on the class swapping into). Will it just never let the swap occur if the class opens up? I can’t imagine why swapping into a different section would be that hard to do without risking losing the class altogether.
