i hate living in lloyd. it's anti-social and i have no friends in it, it's in a terrible location for me, the food is the worst on campus, and all of my friends live in south quad and i'm constantly making the 20-minute journey down there to hang out with them. i don't know how things happened this way, but somehow, they did, and it's not going to get any better.

i tried putting out a room swap bulletin on the website but no one has responded to it. there were people who had wanted to switch from sq to lloyd, but the bulletins were from like, over the summer and those people don't want to switch anymore.

so my question is... does anyone have experience with swapping rooms/know whether it's common/know the best way to go about doing it or alternate ways besides the website?

im in the same situation, im in oxford and i constantly walk up to markley where my friends are. and plus we dont really have a dining hall.
but eventually i saw it was better to make friends in oxford

ahhhhh really? noooo please think about it!!! it's so much better to live in a dorm with your friends, definitely worth the extra 5-10 minutes walking. it's good exercise anyway! PLEASEEEEEE i'm sending you a message with my info

It's unlikely that someone will want to switch from South to anywhere. First of all, a big chunk of the building is for Honors students -- and most of the rest are upperclassmen. If you're female, what about swaping into Barbour or Newberry?

i know, i've considered that option. there are also people who may want to switch out of west quad. actually, i found a girl who wanted to swap with me for west, but her roommate wanted to switch too and there's no way my roommate will want to go anywhere.

at any rate, i'm still putting my name down for the winter term waitlist and there's a good chance of getting south with that method.

Most of the doubles in Barbour and Newberry are really small -- but if you could get a single, it's a really nice place to live. Maybe not a party dorm, exactly, but so close to campus and you'll be close to your friends in South and West.
