I got this email from Swarthmore a few days ago:

"Its true--you have a fee waiver and a deadline extension for your application!

The extension will be until Wednesday, January 15th and directions on how to apply to Swarthmore can be found here on our webpage.

To use the fee waiver and extension, simply select the Online Fee Waiver option via the Common App on the Profile section. Forward this email to your counselor as proof that you have permission to request a fee waiver. Youll automatically be able to apply via the Common App until the 15thno action is required on your part."

It's from a swarthmore.edu email address, so it's definitely legit. I selected the "Online Fee Waiver" option, but it didn't change the deadline of the application in the My Colleges page. My counselor is on Christmas vacation like everyone else, so can't really take any action in verifying, etc.

I'm REALLY freaking out, because I'm not sure what happens on Common App after I haven't submitted by Jan 1?? Does the college just disappear? Will I actually not be allowed to apply?

Swarthmore isn't responding to any of my emails about it and I'm just...worried.
