I’ve read in the swarthmore facebook page that international students decisions will be emailed in a few days!
Good luck everyone~

No one received letters today?

Waitlisted. It was our reach so not too surprised. Congrats to all admitted - you should be VERY proud!!

Rejection letter today in Northern Virginia. Not unexpected. Good luck, Swatties.

The kid was admitted! We are surprised but pleased. :)

I was waitlisted! I thoroughly expected a rejection letter! Swarthmore was the most selective school I applied to so this came as a bit of a surprise. I know I’m a good student (Salutatorian of my class), but my SAT/ACT scores (2120) aren’t quite on par with other students who get accepted to Swat. I know a waitlist isn’t an acceptance, but it’s not an outright rejection and I think my essays and interview definitely helped me be considered for acceptance. I know not many people get accepted off the wait list, and I probably won’t, but I still feel happy they thought something off my application was interesting. =)

My top three schools were Swat, Tufts and Haverford. I got rejected at Tufts, but accepted to Haverford =D. So even if I don’t get into Swat I’ll be right there in the neighborhood if I choose Haverford over one of the other schools I was accepted at (which is likely).

Did any international students received notification?

I haven’t gotten anything yet

@hotspurs Nothing here yet. I’m expecting that they’ll send an email on Monday or Tuesday.

Should I be concerned I haven’t recieved a letter yet and I live in the US?

Nothing here in AZ

AZ and KS…Depending on your local mail sorting speed I’d guess you’ll know tomorrow / Tuesday.

Nothing in Chicago, either.

Decisions were mailed on Thursday. The way it has usually played out in the past is that those who live within an hour of campus receive decisions in the mail in a day. Once you spread out to 2-3 hours away, it becomes two days. AZ/KS/IL are probably going to take 3-5 days depending on whether you are in a big city. Hard to be patient, for sure, but Monday will bring mail for lots more applicants.

Doesn’t swarthmore email the decisions also? I’m an international applicant, and it would take a couple of weeks to receive a post otherwise.

@sinai96 Swarthmore did say on the 28th that they’d be sending an email out to international students “in the next few days” in addition to mailing them. I suspect they’ll do what most colleges do and FedEx acceptances/snail mail rejections.

Wow, okay, just got in! I got a FedEx package an hour ago, and I am in total shock. No email yet!

@tomatosprouts may I ask where are you from? I don’t live in the metropolitan area of my country so I guess I have to wait a lot more TT

@hotspurs I live in the Middle East, in my country’s only major city. Best of luck with your decision!

My son was put on the alternate list at Swarthmore. I realize at this point the chances are very small, but are there any ways to improve the odds? Thanks in advance.
