My stats are abysmal for swarthmore and I'm fairly interested to attend. However, I know its really hard and very very education focused. That's great but I want a college more like Cornell, which I am also applying to RD. I got rejected from Penn ED but the school campus isn't for me at all. I'm pretty sure I can handle swarthmore and the setting is awesome but I'm not 100% set. Should I apply ED2 or RD?

Clearly you should not be applying ED anything to Swarthmore with all of the uncertainties you state. What if you get accepted to Cornell and Swarthmore?

I’d pick cornell for sure. But I don’t wanna not get into any of my reaches which is almost al of my list.

I’ve resolved to apply to Swarthmore EDII. I feel like I’m competitive (at least not so uncompetitive that my app would be immediately trashed). I was deferred at UChicago, and if I was accepted, I would most definitely attend but I highly doubt I will be accepted. So, I am prepared to commit to a school as excellent as Swarthmore if accepted, especially since Swarthmore has the lowest net price on my list of 13 colleges.

I guess it depends on how much you particularly REALLY want to get into Cornell. I just want to get into a great college for physics that will give me a lot of need-based aid. I don’t have too much of a standard. I’d be “100% set” on wherever I’m accepted that gives me all that $$!

Nonetheless, don’t apply ED to any school you aren’t yourself 100% set on.

Swarthmore won’t use my Common App because they took my Questbridge app…while I think my QB app is very strong, my main essay for Common App is better…what should I do?
