Email on Decisions:
Thank you for submitting an application for first-year admission to Swarthmore College.
Decisions will be released online on Friday, March 18 at 7:00pm ET. At that time you will be able to access your decision via your [applicant portal]
*If you have already committed to enroll at another institution, or are no longer interested in being considered for admission to Swarthmore, please contact our office at admissions@swarthmore.edu to withdraw your application.
We appreciate the care and time you put into your application for the Class of 2026.
Wow. They send that to everyone? (a letter about exact date and time, with a note to withdraw if you are no longer interested.) Many other schools send no reminder to visit the portal if it’s a rejection and only send an email if its an acceptance.
Yes, as far as I know they send that to everyone and it’s not unusual, I can think of at least 2 other schools off the top of my head that sent my D similar emails already telling date and time (one with results last week and one sent it nearly three weeks early, so that decision date is still almost two weeks away). But also, have had a couple where it’s just checking the portal and finding out before eventually getting an email a week or so later. They got this email a full week early, from what I saw on the 2021 thread, they only received the email about 2 days before decision day last year (which also corresponded to this Friday).
It’s curious that they want hundreds of rejected applicants to call them to withdraw applications before they release decisions. But thank you for the quick reply.
