Does anyone know if Swarthmore considers currently enrolled siblings to be a legacy? My oldest is a Junior, and my high school senior has applied for the fall.
I doubt they refer to them as “legacy”, but it can’t hurt. I know of several sibs who followed their older brother/sister… who were friends of my eldest to Swat.
Years ago an admin rep said that legacy means that you last name is on a Swat building.
Daughter Class of 2022
Son just accepted 2025.
I imagine siblings make an easier gamble with this absolutely crazy admissions year. It’s nuts! I’m so thrilled he was accepted. He only applied to a safety state school and 3 common app schools. Not good odds against this insane increase in applications. Absolutely Love Swarthmore! Has been the perfect place for my daughter.
