Waitlisted, too! Not sad tbh. I think its a good place to be in. I have other options, and maybe Swarthmore will be one in the future. Congrats to everyone who got in! And if you got rejected, you are still talented and amazing!

My DS was waitlisted.

Stats: 1550 SAT (780 M / 770 EBRW), 780 Math II, 4.6 WGPA, 14 total AP classes (4 senior year + Multivariable Calc). Nine 5s and one 4 on prior AP exams (4 self-study) – National AP Scholar.

ECs + Awards:

Research: Social science research since middle school (won at every regional and state science fair since middle school). ISEF special award from American Statistical Association, National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium Finalist, Regeneron STS Scholar, AJAS Fellow, Broadcom MASTERS semifinalist. Multiple solo-authored peer-reviewed papers in venues across scientific disciplines (one published in biomedical journal with impact factor 3.9+, another two published in top computing venues, another in a so-so computing venue). One paper was noticed by a professor at Harvard Medical School and DS has had an ongoing research collaboration with her this past year. Prof. wrote stellar recommendation (and was happy to share it with DS) and paper with her is was review and now being revised.

Others: Accepted into highly-selective (~15%) regional journalism program this past year as well as Medill-Northwestern Journalism Institute (< 50% accept rate). Has been writing for regional newspaper since 8th grade; got a stellar recommendation from managing editor. Served as town’s photo-historian (selective position with $1,000 stipend). President of school’s mock trial team that has been region winner for past 3 years.

Letters of Rec: Superb letters of recommendation from sophomore year history teacher who is also DS’s mock trial coach. Excellent letter from editor of newspaper and HMS prof and counselor as well.

Essays: Best essays counselor has read in a long time.

Other option is PPE at Oxford.

Who needs Swat ? Signed a happy Haverford alum

Literally the only reason I’m sad is because I have to travel a little farther to see my friends in Media, but no matter! :stuck_out_tongue:

In honesty, I am very happy for everyone who got accepted tonight. If you got waitlisted or rejected, keep your head up! I got waitlisted from Brandeis last night, which was a surprise, as I had expected to be accepted there and not at Haverford. Just goes to show how the process is. We’ve got this. :purple_heart::purple_heart::purple_heart:
