Hey guys, any recruits out there who are waiting on admissions decisions or got an early write, post here!! What sports do you play?? What do you look forward to?

Congrats on your achievements.

FYI: I am a soccer recruit.

I didn’t mean to be insensitive at all (if anyone took it that way), I am just curious to see who else who’s on CC as an athlete is thinking about Swarthmore!!

Moonman - don’t want you to feel alone!!! My D is a lacrosse recruit but I don’t think the recruit part has much to do with whether or not she gets in - more like the coach would love to have her if she gets in - at least that’s my impression.

maidenMom, my D is a junior who plays lacrosse and is interested in a couple of the same schools as your D, so I have been following your posts. Hope she gets in!

moonman, you mentioned early writes. Did you get one? I wasn’t aware Swat did that, but I don’t know much about the process yet either.

mamabear1234 - another lax girl!!! What part of the country are y’all in and which schools is she looking at? D did officials at all her lax choices and I think is going to have a tough decision (something I am not swaying in any way - unless she eventually asks my opinion!)

We’re in SW PA, and I have seen you on the Rochester threads also. The list of schools is constantly changing, but Swat and Rochester are both on there. There are also schools where she would only play club level; it will come down to where she gets in next spring and how she feels about it then.

D would have played for the very disorganized club team had she gotten into Rice and if she gets into and chooses BC, would play club there - BC was a late entry thus hasn’t visited it yet so not sure where that really places on her list.

So you guys are relatively close to the school and I think the Garnet girls are going to have a good season - do you ever get over there to watch them play?

I also wonder if moonman got an early write

interestingly, just noticed moonman also posts on UR!! Also have run across another lax girl also applying to both Swat and UR and think same recruiting weekend as my D at UR.

Hi, I did actually get an early write. I’m not 100% sure if it was due to soccer or otherwise. If you guys need any info on the process I’ve gone through, don’t hesitate to ask!!!

S waiting on decision – no likely letter. He was being recruited for a sport. We haven’t had any communication from the school, so guessing it may not be a good sign. As with most D3 schools, coaches have min. pull – just have to get in! Looks like decisions are mailed (no online notification) and due out March 29 or so – is that what you hear?

I’ve heard nothing about decisions being mailed. If they have mailed already, I would think they would arrive well before 3/29 - where did you hear that midatlantic2012?

Congrats moon! After peeking in at those decisions last night and saw you were waitlisted at MIT, I figured you were a strong applicant for anywhere and probably didn’t need a coach’s help (although to have it, doesn’t hurt!)

Thanks for the offer of process help - now that it’s basically over!!! J/K Man, my D and I feel like we are somewhat experts in DIII recruiting and college searching! Exhausting.

@moonman-- I’m an admitted basketball recruit and can’t wait to be at Swarthmore!

HI! I am a ‘recruited’ swarthmore athlete! I was deferred ED2 from Swat, which broke by heart a little bit, but I’m still hopeful for regular decision!

Hey Woo - Congrats! Are you on the men’s or women’s team?

CollegeDad-- I’ll be on the women’s team.

Good luck!
