I didn’t see a swarthmore thread in this section so I figured I’d make one. Did anyone else apply to transfer to Swarthmore? The wait is making me crazy. I seriously hope they release decisions before the 30th.
I did! I’m really worried that I’ll have to respond to other deadlines before I even get my decision, though
@cassat Wow I hadn’t even thought of that. What other deadlines do you have to work with?
May 18 for Dartmouth!
Ayee that’s mad stressful! Can you contact Dartmouth and explain the situation? Did you officially get accepted?
I’m visiting next week, so hopefully I can talk to the admission office. And yep!
Wow congratulations! And yeah that’s a good idea. Im even more nervous now, haha. I have a feeling I’m gonna get rejected, but there’s still a bit of hope! I wish they would just tell us already.
I applied too. I looked at last year’s forum and it looks like they notified via snail mail and people were getting their decisions around Wednesday the 14th.
I’m hoping the decisions come soon too, because I have a deposit on the 13th, but I’m not exactly expecting to get accepted to Swat, so it probably won’t matter, haha.
Snail mail are you kidding?! I leave the USA for a month on the 13th. Imma cry man.
Where did you get accepted, @timidnotion
@helix96 Wellesley! Though I’m not sure if I’m planning to go there or stay at my current school. And I’m still waiting on a handful.
wait, so is swat’s notification date definitely the 30th??? sorry, i’m new to the thread!
@gyuanyu They say by May 30th, but it’ll almost definitely be before. I’m guessing around the 15th but I could be totally wrong.
got an email today - it’s the 14th! i’m not even nervous i don’t think i’ll get in anyway
@jc0215 Same here, praying that I’ll get in but almost positive I wont. Where else did you apply?
Does anyone know how many students they’re planning on taking this year?
Out of curiosity - what was everyone’s experience in applying?
I didn’t get to do an interview, but I got a call two weeks ago asking about my classes. Since there aren’t many posts in the transfer threads, I’m not sure what kind of omen that is!
@mechaas What did they want to know about your classes? I think I had a pretty standard experience. My interview happened in either January or February, and I sent in the actual application last minute. The letters of recommendation weren’t processing so I called them a couple times about that, but otherwise, I haven’t been in contact with them.
Just a progress report! I sent in a midterm report not too long after my application - which was also fairly last minute - and aside from those two instances, there wasn’t any other contact. My application materials were processed just fine so I didn’t need to.
This will be my last decision from all colleges. Been a stressful process, but I hope you guys the best for your decisions! 2 minutes left!
just got rejected. here are my stats for reference in case anyone is curious. i just finished my freshman year at Georgetown, and I’ve already been accepted to Vanderbilt, Haverford, Wesleyan, and Harvard. Waitlisted at Amherst and then rejected from Yale and Swarthmore. I am enrolling at Harvard.
