ecape, can I ask, what were your stats like when applying for transfer to Swarthmore? I decided not to apply to Brown because of the need aware issue.

My stats. GPA: 3.6 with 21 credit hours. SAT: 1480. SATIIs: 720, 760, and I forget. I was a leader in a couple of clubs. Good luck pinkearmuffs. (although I suppose you are now officially competition *heh)

hehe thanks. are soph and junior transfer still in the same applicant pool? or are they looked at separately...

I think my daughters ECs, essays, and recs were all outstanding but many factors are considered by admissions, for example, demographics. We are from NJ which is well known for sending many competitive applicants to these highly selective schools. Daughter plays violin, maybe they needed oboe player last year. All worked out for the best. She really liked Middlebury, Dartmouth, and Amherst. She selected Dartmouth and loves it: bright, very friendly classmates and professors who are excellent teachers and really care about their students. There's a great school out there for everyone, but sometimes it's necessary to consider a number of schools in order to find a mutual match.

Sorry, if my previous post seems out of sequence. I was just responding to ecape's question as to where my daughter ended up.

thanks for the very helpful comparison between Brown and Swat, Momofthree...it is great to hear from a parent who has a student in both schools.

Faline2,

You are welcome :) !
