Swarthmore vs. Haverford

My way-unscientific impression, after one day at each school:

Haverford was more laid-back; the campus was quiet and the students that I saw were pretty calm and relaxed. Swarthmore had more passion - more people out and about, more going on, and an intense energy that pervaded the campus. The students that I talked to at Haverford mostly talked about how warm and friendly everyone was, and the sense of community, while the Swarthmore students were more focused on the stimulating intellectual and political environment on campus. Both schools are known for being quirky, but there seemed to be more quirk at Swarthmore than at Haverford.

Reading through some of your earlier posts, I’d say Swarthmore is more like Oberlin, Carleton, and Chicago, and Haverford more like Kenyon and Denison.
