Swarthmore/Williams/Tufts/others

I literally cringe every time I see a chance me post, but…here I am… back to my old habits. I just wanna know if I’m in an “okay” spot.

My College List: Brown, Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Haverford, Tufts, Northeastern (maybe), Holy Cross, Boston College, UMass Amherst, Stonehill College

Stats & Stuff:

GPA: 4.633, Rank: #5/240
ACT: 31 Superscore (35 E, 32 M, 24 R, 32 S) [10 on essay]. My goal is a 33 superscore by September/October
SAT II’s: US History (740), Math II on August 25th
AP Exams: APUSH (3), AP Physics 1 (3), AP Lit (3)

Junior Year: AP Physics (A), AP English 11 (A-), AP US History II (A), Honors Precalculus (A), AP Spanish (A+), Honors Orchestra (A+).

Senior Year: AP Computer Science, AP English 12, AP Psychology, AP Calculus AB, Honors Civics, Honors Orchestra.

Due to scheduling conflicts at my school, I had to drop my Spanish class and my typical lab science class (which was going to be AP Bio or AP Chem). They conflicted with English and math, and I need those to graduate.

Extracurriculars: Varsity Swimming & Diving 9-12 (Captain), Celtic Strings 9-12 (Principal), Global Citizenship Program and Club 9-12 (Co-President), Regional Young Democrats 10-12 (Event Coordinator), Community Chamber Orchestra 8-12 (Principal), Community Youth Orchestra 7-12 (Principal), All-State Orchestra 10-12, District Orchestra 7-12, Cello Duo 10-12, National Honor Society and the Music & Spanish Honor Societies at my school.

Intended Major: likely psychology or cognitive science…but I also really enjoy history, English, and music, so I’m open to changing my mind once I get to college.

I’ve done a lot of small science and “global citizenship”-based programs outside of school and I took a clinical psych class, but I’m not sure what I would categorize those activities as on the common app since they aren’t quite “extracurriculars” at all.

Career Goals: I’m not really sure. I think teaching would be interesting. I also wanna test out psychology, computer science, “the pre-med track”, and other paths just so I don’t limit my options.

Essays/Recommendations: I’d say I’m very good at writing, and I think all my recommendations will be solid. There’s no way of knowing how they’ll be interpreted by admissions committees though.

Additional Things: I’m planning on submitting a music supplement and my resume for the Global Citizenship Program that I mentioned.

Demographic Info: white, male, middle class, first gen. college student. I go to a fairly small and typical public high school.
