I'm filling out Swarthmore's Pre-Interview Form right now, and it asks two questions on the bottom: 1. which classes or subjects in your high school have been your favorite? 2. please provide examples of extracurrics that are most meaningful to you.

I'm just wondering, how specific should I be? I assume this is for my interviewer to read, and she will probably ask me to elaborate on whatever I write, so should I just list? Or write like a sentence for each? Or do I have to explain why a certain class was meaningful, and what exactly each ec entailed? Just wondering, I don't want to write too little or too much. ;)

I’m pretty sure anything will work. As long as you’re being honest (ie. not saying you love soccer when you know nothing about soccer) and will be able to explain/talk about it, then its fine.

Btw, are you a senior? If so, isn’t it a bit late for an interview?

It’s just a conversation-starter. I just put a list, and if the interviewer was confused about something, he’d ask me what it was and then we’d talk about it.

Are you sure? On their supplement it says the deadline is Dec. 1st. On their website under “Off campus interviews” it says “The deadline for off-campus interview requests from graduating seniors has now passed. Current juniors interested in off-campus interviews should revisit this webpage in late summer 2010 for additional information.”
If it really does go on until Jan. 8th, where is the pre-interview form located at?

The pre-interview form is what you print out and take to the interview and I’m assuming Jan 8th is the last day to have one. The link to the interview form is in the letter mailed with your alumni interviewer’s name.

OH Jan. 8th is the last day to have an interview, but Dec. 1st was the last day to REQUEST an interview. Darn. Oh well thanks for clearing that up.

I have my interview scheduled for January 10th (tomorrow). I sent my form in before Dec and my interviewer said that jan 10th would beo ut date.
