Hello to my fellow prospective Yalies! I was searching online for a Yale sweatshirt (my mom really wants me to get one! yay!), but I seem to be having some problems. I checked out ivysport.com, and I really liked one of the sweatshirts (it's referred to as "Yale - Classic - Hooded Sweatshirt (Navy)"), but the store only has it in an adult medium! I'm a girl, and not exceptionally huuuuuuuge (I'm tall and skinny - not a good combination for buying clothes), so I would get a small. So here is my question: has anyone been able to find that sweatshirt, perhaps at another location, a smaller size? Thanks! I appreciate any help! :)

If you go to http://yale.bkstore.com/ you should be able to find some more sweatshirts. Also, if you click on "Alumni" on the main menu of the Yale's website's front page and then on "Yale Goods," they have links to a couple other sites as well. Hope this helps!

Here's another store: http://boolaboola.com/

Thanks! I'll be sure to check them out!

i ordered a shirt and sweatshirt from ivysport and i got a medium, im tall as well so i thought that would work, but they definitely run big

I ordered a small from the Yale bookstore website. It's actually the same sweatshirt as my Boston College one (except w/ different colors and letters, obviously), so it should fit me just fine. I FINALLY have a shirt from a school I got into (or even applied to)! So far, I only have a BC sweatshirt (from when my sister visited - I decided not to apply, though I loved it) and a Maryland sweatshirt (my sister went to a field hockey camp there and gave it to me when she went to Schreyer). BUUUUUUUT now I'm all set!

those sweatshirts on the yale bookstore site are kind of plain/boring...

lol i kno it says yale so it cant be boring, but u kno what i mean...

any idea where u can get better ones, haha?

I ordered this one: http://ivysport.com/product-product_id/797

It's so hott. The website doesn't really do justice to it. And they do indeed run quite big.

This sweatshirt is so soft. Best sweatshirt EVER. It's, like, my new best friend.

--Ted

do people look at you really funny when you wear the sweatshirt to school? i kind of haven't bought one yet for this reason. I mean, it won't be that bad at school, but if i wear to church, where everyone's dying to get into an ivy, they might think i'm gloating.

sometimes ebay has some good yale stuff at cheaper prices. they also have some weird looking vintage clothing as well. I got my sweatshirt off of ebay and it's awesome.

Haha, I think it's hilarious that you have to worry about people at your church instead of your school being jealous or accusatory. I'm happy just to have anything Yale instead of my sister's old sweatshirts from colleges that didn't end up attending or even applying to, so this one's good for me. I haven't worn it to school, but I wore it to my friend's house, and no one cared because everyone there is really supportive. But....at school, there is a certain someone/group of people who I honestly swear try to suck the happiness out of everything, and that certain someone/group may accuse me of gloating. Harumph. We'll see if I wear it.

Well, at my school, people can't even name the members of the Ivy League, but they still make snide comments when I wear a Yale shirt - it's okay for them to wear Ohio State and University of Cincinnati shirts, but not for me to wear Yale. Arrrggh.

I'm with you, vivaldi... I wear it anyway though :-)

Yes...I don't care anymore, especially since I only have 30 school days left. Yay. :)

it's funny how that works huh? I have the same dilemma, to have school pride towards Yale and to be proud of your own accomplishments, but at the same time not appear arrogant or cocky. It's a very very fine line. But yeah I agree, it's very ironic how it's ok for people to wear UCSD and Cal State sweatshirts, but not for me to wear one from an actual ivy league school...

I don't give a f u c k about what anybody thinks.....Whichever school I go to (Yale or Princeton) I will wear my college gear no matter what!!!!

how big do the shirts from ivysport run?

one size bigger than what you expect.

Yep there's a group of people in my school who accuse me of being arrogant/gloating or "rubbing it into people's faces" when I have done no such thing. But they're just jealous and the more they talk, the more I will wear my sweatshirt. I won't let a bunch of jealous idiots destroy my school pride.

Why can't you rub it in their face? You will be attending one of the greatest universities in the world, and I would certainly assume that you earned your place there. Feel free to act as you wish - and be proud of getting in!

Anyway, yale bookstore has high quality items but they are very expensive - boolaboola shop is somewhat lower quality, but significantly cheaper and have [what I consider] a larger selection (in-store, at least)
