Swim test worries

I know people have already asked about the swim test before, but I wanted to clarify something: I've heard people say that as long as you don't stop and don't touch the sides, you'll be fine. But does the "don't touch the sides" rule apply to the backstroke? I feel like I might not swim totally straight...as long as I correct myself quickly, is that fine?

Also, I definitely know how to swim, it's just that my endurance is pretty bad, and I didn't get the chance to practice over the summer...is endurance often a problem for people? Thanks.

as long as you don’t hold onto the sides, you’re good. i bumped around a little on the backstroke and no one minded.

as long as you dont push off the sides with your feet/hands you should be fine…

Do you have to do a legit backstroke or is it just about swimming on your back? I can’t really do an official backstroke without going way off course.

Er, you can’t even push off the ends when you start?

i believe dewdrop (or someone else) said that you can push off the ends ONLY AFTER you jump in to the pool:

jump in
swim back toward the end
push off the end

the point of the swim test isnt only to see if you can swim but if you can jump in and float back up (what you would do at a gorge).

no official strokes have to be used. you can do doggy paddle…half paddle…w/e lol.

just as long as you’re able to jump in the pool…and make it back and forth without touching sides or bottom.
