While you are taking the swim test are there a lot of people sitting around watching you? Would there be a time to register at that I could avoid seeing a lot of people? I don't want to start off my four years having everyone see me in a bikini- I just find it uncomfortable and weird, but that's just me. Thanks for any input!

Don’t wear a bikini? You could test in a one piece. You could also test at the women’s only pool. I assume they still offer that option? Everyone is in the same situation.

Does anyone know how many schools have a swim test requirement? My kids’ high school has one also, but I’m curious how many colleges do.

OP, wear a one piece and schedule for early in the AM would be my recommendation. Good luck.

OP,

If you are a good swimmer you could probably wear sweatpants if you wanted to.

I think I’ll just register at the earliest spot then. I don’t want to buy a one piece that I’ll never wear again just for this test. I’m a good swimmer, so I’ll just get it over with. Thanks everyone!

Washington and Lee still has a swim test and a PE requirement. Girls and guys test separately.

Cornell has testing for girls and guys separately as well as together (multiple pools, different times). You can schedule for either option once the scheduling opens. Don’t wait to schedule. The slots fill up, with the early ones in demand.
