Swimming coach gets one-month notice to be dismissed.

Hey people..
I learned today that the swim club committee found out that the new coach, whom I've been swimming under for 3 months now (because the previous young coach died in his sleep), has been sucking out programs/ training plans out of his thumb and accused of some other complaints.

I asked him if he could write recs for me like a month ago but I didn't give him any of the forms except for Exeter's online recommendation sending.

What do you suggest?

Is this going to kill any of the recs that I send, or will the schools not find out?

Thank you.

I doubt that a coach who only worked with you for three months would have very much to say that would be helpful.
How long did you work with your previous coach? Was there an assistant coach during that time who could comment on your previous performance?
Do you have access to your times? That’s what a swim coach is really going to want to know, anyway.

Before this coach that got dismissed, i swam with a coach of a top-tier college in america for one academic year. He wrote a rec for me to a hades bs last year but it was a late app and it got me wait-listed. I also need fa, and i’m international now.

My recent 50 meter free was 27secs and this weekend i want to do 25 or 26 (maybe 24! :d ). Do you think a 26 will be enough for a tenschools bs?

Oh and im 15 right now. I swam a 28 when i was 13. So i have to improve a lot this season. I’ve been moving around with too many breaks.

Follow SiliconValleyMom’s advice. Also contact any former coaches for a rec.

Look on the bright side. If he was fired for incompetence, he might not be a reliable person. You know there are problems now, in November, when you still have time to recruit someone else to write a recommendation.
