Swimming/Diving @ GLADCHEMMS

Hi,

I'm looking into GLADCHEMMS (is that right?) and I was wondering if anyone could give me personal insight into swimming/diving programs at any of these schools? I did gymnastics (competitively - 15 hrs a week) for many years and I started diving last year. Additionally I have been swimming for 8 years... I really appreciate your help!

Thanks again

I’ve heard rumors of Peddie’s swimming. I don’t have too much information on it but I’ve heard its one of the best.

Mercersburg Academy has a diving and swimming program. From memory, I think they’ve had a dozen or so Olympic gold medalists over the years. I’m not sure if it’s one of the M’s in your GLADCHEMMS acronym, but it might be worth a look.

Peddie has swimming all yr. Serious swimmers go there.

Deerfield has the largest natatorium among NE boarding schools. It is the nicest swimming/diving facility out of the many schools we visited. The boys swim team has been extremely successful, and the boys water polo just won the NE championships. We are not swimmers; a competitive swimmer may have a different viewpoint on the facilities.

That’s right, CateParent. Mercersburg is known for their swimming. Great school.

I don’t know much about the Hotchkiss swimming team, but I know that its pool is incredible. There is no finer BS swimming facility in NE.

Exeter’s swim team is supposed to be fantastic. One of my friend’s is a serious swimmer and he says Exeter’s team is the best around.

While the championship program isn’t necessarily the best fit for any given athlete, check out the NE swimming website: [Welcome to the New England Prep School Swimming & Diving league…](http://www.nepssa.org)

St. Paul’s has a great pool, but it is only used for recreational use.
