Switch from L&S to College of engineering

I got in as pre-business admin at Berkeley this next Fall semester, but i'm having second thoughts about it. Realistically how hard is it to switch from L and S after my freshman year. I know statistically it's near impossible to switch now, but what about after a year. What do i have to do in order to increase my chances to switch.

bump ? ..............

I'm in a similar situation myself. What does it take to transfer from L&S over to Engineering? Is it even possible?

i think it's possible but very difficult? don't know the details. =O

It's possible, but very difficult esp. if you want to transfer into an impacted engineering major such as bioE or EECS because you will be competing against transfer students for those limited available spaces (your gpa versus their cc gpa + other factors).

how high of a gpa are we looking at ? Statistically what are the chances ?

HAHA! Wow I am having the opposite problem. I am wondering of I should switch out of Bioengineering and do Economics?

so i take it you're pre-Haas.....just get a 3.5 GPA in the pre-business classes (they are easy classes, from what i've been told) and BE INVOLVED IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES and you won't have trouble getting into Haas.

Yeah, i am prehaas, but it's not that i am scared that i won't make it into haas. It's just that i actually changed my desired career path. I think it's hard for many of us to decide what we want to be right from highschool. I wish transfering to a different college was easier.

i transferred from L&S to college of chemistry....it wasn't hard at all. L&S to Natural Resources is pretty much guaranteed. L&S to engineering might require a bit of "proving yourself" though. Good luck in your pursuits.
