Could someone tell me how you can switch your major at the engineering school to the science school at UC Berkeley once you are admitted? How difficult is it? And what steps are need in order to do this?

You should ask the fine folks at Berkeley this question.

Most science majors are in the College of Letters and Science. Chemistry may be done in either the College of Chemistry or College of Letters and Science. Computer science may be done in either the College of Letters and Science (where it is currently a capped major requiring a 3.0 GPA in the prerequisites) or the College of Engineering (as the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science major, which has competitive admission to change into; if you are in EECS and want to emphasize CS, you can just stay in the major). Some of the smaller biology majors are in the College of Natural Resources (the bigger ones are in the College of Letters and Science).
