Switched majors, internship advice please.

I am a freshman and I switched my major from biology to engineering. All of my employments, classes, and extracurricular activities in college have been related to biology and nothing to do with my new major. Seeing how the deadlines for applications to internships are around January I'm getting a little anxious on what to do. Suggestions?

as you’re a freshman, the employers will probably understand that you switched your major, as most freshman do. you should explain to them that you’re still passionate about engineering and will make up for lack of experience with enthusiasm, etc.

It’s hard to get internships as a freshman because you have no experience - academic or professional. Switching intended majors first semester freshman year should have essentially no impact on your ability to obtain an internship… if you have trouble, attribute the difficulty to being a freshman.
