Switched to EE, now intimidated.

Don’t worry. Wait until you take E&M, and if you hate it… then worry. Actually, some of the smartest EE students at my school struggled in this portion because my teacher was a hardass.

For any Engineering, it’s intimidating at first. I think being intimidated is a little better then thinking you are not going to struggle, do poorly on a test, or want to quit.

But, like you’ve already said… be prepared for long nights.

Little late to the party but your schedule for this upcoming quarter doesn’t look too bad. I went to Cal Poly Pomona for my BS and MS in ECE so I’m familiar with their courses. Depending on your programming skills and thought process some of the labs will be a piece of cake. If you read the upcoming lab assignments and get all the components (network labs) you can be finished in less than an hour. Take numerous notes throughout the lab as the most time consuming part for those classes tends to be the lab report. Make a template for the lab reports and it will cut down your time.

The one class that does require (at least to me) a great deal of time is ECE-302 (electro-magnetics). There is no way around it, but the course is not a preq. for any other required course so you can take it later in your program. I took mine in the Winter quarter before graduation as my schedule was not as demanding at that time.

Don’t be intimidated by what you hear. I was able to work full-time and lived an hour away from the campus. Granted, not all my grades were stellar but life is all about sacrifices.

Let me know if I you have any questions on courses or professors. I’ll be happy to help you.

Wow sorry I’m a little late but that really helps that you were in my position. Thanks a bunch and I’ll be sure to pm you when the going gets me down hah.
