Switching Bio1AL Sections

Does anyone know how many people usually drop Bio1AL after Phase I (either by not fulfilling pre-reqs or any other reason)? I originally signed up for Friday lab, thinking I should spread out my classes more throughout the week, but now would like to switch to Wednesday lab. I know Friday labs aren't very popular (not sure what I was thinking wanting class until 5pm on a Friday when all the other labs were open during my Phase I...), but how likely is it that I can switch? My telebears isn't until July 29 =/

The first week before class begins, there are several open spaces in various sections - but like you, most people are trying to get out of Friday labs, and evening labs as well.

nothing wrong with a friday lab. more time to study.

according to some people, Friday labs have the best curves. i know it was true for me, it’s how I got my A-.

^I think they said Friday mornings were the highest… Friday afternoons + evenings tended to score the lowest.

How does the grading work for this class? Why would Friday labs generally have a better curve?

Helen has been the GSI for Friday morning this past year and she’s supposed to be one of the hardest GSIs for the course. This may be why the curve is so significant.

Probably because lab lecture is on tuesday night so if you have lab Tuesday you only have one night to memorize like the whole chapter in the manual word for word. You should probably just not bother going to lecture or webcast the lecture from last year if you have a Tuesday lab because one night is really not enough time to completely understand and memorize every single detail.

*lab lecture is on monday night i meant
