i got rejected from CAS but i can still do HSS. however, the major that i want to pursue is in CAS. i really want to go to carnegie mellon though, so i was thinking that i can attend HSS for one year and transfer to CAS the next or such. would that be feasible? do many students do that? how easy is it to switch colleges?

hey i had the same question

Is CAS supposed to be CFA or MCS? It’s pretty hard to switch into the college of fine arts, I believe. It should be easier to get into the Mellon College of Science, though. I’d call admissions or maybe a contact person on the homepage of the school you want to transfer into to find out an answer to your question.

i definitely meant MCS, i dunno where i got CAS from…

thanks, i plan on giving them a call tomorrow anyway.

it is pretty easy to switch from hss to mcs. All you need is better than 2.0.

However, if you want to switch to tepper or engineering, well, that is a different story. You would need at least a 3.0 and a compelling reason to want to transfer into it. Last year tepper only accepted 10 internal transfers out of like 50. gluck with that. Engineering had a similar amount.
