Switching Decision type

Is there a way you can switch from Regular to Early decision after applying

Some of our schools allow this. If the ED date hasn’t passed, contact your school’s admission office to ask.

Sorry if this is too specific but do you think WashU in St. Louis would let me

They have an ED 2 with a deadline of Jan 4. You’ll probably need to contact them to find out if they allow a switch and what you would need to do.

As long as you get confirmation from the admissions office, you should be able to do it. But you, your parents, and guidance counselor all have to sign off on an ED application so you also have to get in touch with the counselor.

This is for ED2, right?

What do you guys think would happen if I tried to switch in like mid january

If you are talking about switching RD to ED2 in Mid-Jan the school may not allow a switch if it is past the ED2 deadline. Reach out to your admissions officer and ask this question.

Why can’t you decide if you are applying ED2 by the Jan 4 deadline (if we are still talking about WashU)?

I don’t think you can switch after the deadline has passed.

at some schools you certainly can - some will reach out and ask you if you want to switch past the deadline (ed2/rd deadline)

Wash U is very competitive. I’d follow their deadlines. Try to contact someone to see if a switch is possible.

Just a sports thing

What does ‘a sports thing’ mean…are you a recruited athlete (or trying to be)?

I want to walk on to the team and depending on the coaches response I’ll Ed there but they haven’t gotten back to me
